Welcome to the site. I recommend you start a discussion on the nonfiction or spiritual writing sites about how to get started in writing a book. That might bring in more direct answers. We have many resources on the site including the BPwiz software. It is free and has a complete tutorial about how to write a book proposal. We have blogs about the industry and have our query fest and ask the agent resources. As I asked in a comment in the group, how is it that your daughter can be off the life support during the day? Was there a turning point when it was discovered that she could survive? These are the first questions that come to my mind. Have you ever written anything? Do you need a writing coach? You have a compelling story on the face of it. Although you were receiving good advice, you may not fit the journey of other writers depending on your story. Blessings,
Hi, Shelly! I saw you posted through the spiritual writing section but wasn't sure how to reply because it didn't show up on the board or the wall. But my suggestion would be to first write your daughter's story as a magazine article and try to place it in a venue like Mothering Magazine. If you get a few articles out there, then you've proven your book will have a platform, and that will help you with getting it published.
