Profile of a Lipreading Momwriter
Shanna Groves is the author of Lip Reader, a novel inspired by her personal experiences with progressive hearing loss. In addition to speaking to groups, she has written for Hearing Loss Magazine,HealthyHearing.com, The Kansas City Star, MOMSense magazine, and various A Cup of Comfort books. Shanna joined the Hearing Loss Association of America several years ago to understand more about her health issue and, in 2009, co-founded the Association’s Kansas City Chapter. She holds a degree in Communication with a Journalism emphasis.
Her most important job is mothering her three small children. Shanna blogs about her (mis)adventures as a hard of hearing parent at http://LipreadingMom.com.
