Lynne E Blackwood has not received any gifts yet
I write poetry and short stories since the age of six. But have only started writing 'professionally' since April this year and began entering competitions in the UK. (I need a 'writer's CV!).
My first short story competition and I won first prize. My first poetry competition and I won a commendation for Winchester Writers' Conference. The adjudicator was Phil Carradice, an accomplished poet with quite a few anthologies beneath his belt. So I am honoured!
In the meantime...I have been writing a Magical Realism novel set in Paris, first person, male protagonist, which is coming along very nicely, thank you.
I have just started a crime mystery thriller set in the Republic of Georgia and that is coming along very nicely as well!
All of my writing has received applause - 'powerful, evocative, atmospheric, really draws you in, can almost feel the characters breathe'...ad infinitum
A piece of writing should be a journey through emotions, questions about life and transformation of both the character and the reader. I want to touch the reader's innermost thoughts and doubts so they question and learn. Maybe I do, I think it's quite probable considering the reactions I have received so far.
So there you are. That's me. Oh and by the way, I am Anglo-Indian and empathise with people from different cultures. In fact, I love world culture and the richness it brings to one's perception of mankind. The raw truth of life as a human being.
