Glenda J. Findley liked Gloria Faye Brown Bates/Granny G's blog post That's Just Special!I am a simple wife, mother and grandmother, currently living in a rural Midwestern community that took up writing three years ago and found a special niche in editing and reviewing on Writing.Com. New to freelance editing, I am excited to encompass this new challenge.
All genres and writing styles are welcome to my expanding imagination, as I love being entertained. Yet, I love that entertainment to include deep philosophical, theological, or mystery/suspense thrillers, as well as science or historical fiction, always welcome with subtle or underlying sub-plots. A little romance filtered into a complex story is always a big plus. Characterization is important with realistic social and cultural identities, I must enjoy a story that I edit.
I am an individual that concentrates on grammar and punctuation, yet like to think of the author’s creative and sometimes fragile ego. I only offer suggestions, as story telling is a subjective and artistic art form similar to sculpture, tapestry or painting.
Only having internet availability a few hours a day, I hope this new social network will find a prominent place in that limited period.

Today I decided to see who might want to read my latest short story. Beware, for if you're in a cheerful mood, this one might bring you down.
Memories Returned to Haunt
An authors legacy or bane...you determine.
The phone rang. I looked at it and wondered whether it was worth the effort to get up and walk across the room to answer. I need to rearrange the…

I awoke this morning with the following thoughts. Likely as boring as my first blog.
Well, I am over the hump with my first scary blog post and the panic of finding my own errors later. It proves that we all need editors. I scour line by line while enjoying reading the active muses of others, so when I write, oh...my. Those typos fly off my fingers faster than any author could fear.
I am excited to say that, as a new freelance editor, I will soon be working on a new…

Well, at the least, blogging is a scary thought for this writer/editor. To write off the top of my head without all of my usual grammar and punctuation aides. To click that publish button for all to read, rather than the private journal/diary entries written over these many years. This is scary, yet here I am, willing to throw a few words on paper ... opps ... toss aside those old cliches for new ones.
What to write, without boring any possible reader? While considering this…

Stefanie Pratt said… Glenda,
I have created an account with writing.com and am Quiltingmama. I haven't really had any time to explore it yet, but hope to do so this evening. Thanks for the help.

Stefanie Pratt said… Thanks for welcoming me. I am so new to all of this that I'm still trying to work up the courage to actually share more of my stories. I've always loved writing but have never really had the confidence in myself and in what I've written to share. I'm now facing middle age, a possible life changing divorce with three youngsters in tow and have decided that I need to be more about me. I won a silly contest on a Fifty Shades of Grey fansite and it gave me the push to try harder to get published. Silly huh? My last two blurbs on Facebook were a blatant attempt to get input and help me decide which of the two books I wanted to try to get published first.
Thanks again for the support.
