A satisfying end to an emerging writer’s tale

Nothing is more satisfying for a publisher than seeing a writer who deserves to have their work read, be published. Today,Peter Rake can proudly say that he is a published author.Working in obscurity, it’s the classic tale of the writer honing their craft through workshopping and TAFE courses on writing; having conversations in their head between their favorite characters; writing a story and then coming…See More

Writing up a bio sheet

When you are promoting an author, or promoting yourself as an author, it’s extremely useful to make up an Author Bio sheet. In fact, it’s smart to make up a few versions. I’d recommend:200 word version400 word version600 word versionwell presented PDF version with a headshot photoIf you have bios of three different lengths then you can cut and paste no matter what word limit the press ask for. A PDF version is also a great way to pass on information in a neat and professional format. Remember,…See More

When you are promoting an author, or promoting yourself as an author, it’s extremely useful to make up an Author Bio sheet. In fact, it’s smart to make up a few versions. I’d recommend:

  • 600 word version
  • well presented PDF version with a headshot photo
