Ekta R. Garg replied to jeff herman's discussion HOW DETERMINED ARE YOU TO GET PUBLISHED? in the group FictionHello, everyone! My name is Ekta Garg, and I use my blog, The Write Edge, as my professional writing platform. I have been writing since I was a child, and with two degrees in journalism I have received the best training in the technical aspects of writing.
But my heart has always been in creative writing, and I originally launched my blog as the impetus for rewriting my first novel. I am now posting it piece by piece on a weekly basis in a separate blog for a small but dedicated readership. Here is the synopsis for the novel:
First-generation American Priya Malhotra realizes her definition of "being Indian" is drastically different from her parents' definition when they try to arrange her marriage. As she embarks on an emotional separation from everyone (including best guy friend, Raj,) Priya discovers that to understand her cultural identity, first she'll have to find out who she is.
As I work on my own writing, I also enjoy helping those in the writing fraternity pursue their own dreams by offering my professional editing skills for hire.
My main blog is at: thewriteedge.wordpress.com.
My book review blog is at: thewriteedgebookshelf.wordpress.com.
My parenting blog is at: thewriteedgegrowthchart.wordpress.com.
And I am happy to add interested writers to the novel blog at: americankismet.wordpress.com.
I tell people I write because this is where my heart beats the loudest, and I hope one day to give others the opportunity to hear that rhythm by getting published.
Anjali Paul said… Dear Ekta,
Thank you for your friend request. I am sorry, I do not have review copies available, but if you contact the publisher they may send you a copy. The publisher is JustFiction Edition and the contact email is h.meyer@justfiction-edition.com. The lady is called Hanna Meyer and she is a really nice person - she may be able to help you.
Warm regards,
Anjali.
Meenu Mehrotra said… So I was right Ekta. We do have chatted earlier. Now the reason why I was wanting to wait for the review was that I DO NOT HAVE A PRINTED COPY of my book with me. Its in the final stages of proofing. I would love to have the review before the book is released. Let me know of another way. Thanks. Meenu
Meenu Mehrotra said… Hi Ekta,
Do send me links of some of your reviews and let me know how does it work- mean how much time do you require to review and how do you charge etc.
Cheers!
Meenu
