How many of you at random times of the day or night get the best thought in the world?  Do you have a pen or pencil or writing tablet handy,or do you grab the nearest thing that will sufice.  What has been the most interesting writing surface/writing implement that you have had to use to preserve those great words and thoughts?

     How many of us allow the daily "have to's," interupt our creative thought process?   We raise our families, take care of our parents, please our bosses, pay our taxes and then.....we can't write after we are dead can we?  Learning to seize each moment of quiet, where my mind is free to fire up thoughts, has become a challenge I look forward to.  How do you as writiers find those moments?

     It doesn't seem that long ago when my first manuscript was requested by Zonderkids Publishing.  A childrens story based on questions my daughter would ask about God.  How exciting it was to know that the first story I had ever written was requested!  I was in contact with the publishing editor, we were even on first name basis.  However, they decided that at that time they would not use my story.  I should have continued to pursue, but I let life and circumstances deter me from the…
