Hello everyone,

I would like to share with you my newest short story. Although it's fiction but it's also about the spirit of Christmas which makes it perfect for this group.

I hope you will have the time to read it and share with me your thoughts. :) Thank you for your time.

Best Regards,

Ramona

Hi Shelley,

I agree with Jane. Besides finding out if there's a market for your book, you'll also find out if you really want to write a book. Writing a book is a big commitment, takes a lot of time and discipline. Also, you're giving yourself time to learn about writing a book. You do need to learn about the craft (if this is your first book).

You have an interesting story. I'd explore the potential, if I was you, and learn about writing.

All the best. I wish you every success!

Robyn

Hi, Shelley!

I'd encourage you to write magazine articles first. It sounds like your story might fit with Mothering Magazine, for example. You can also write about mothers who have faced similar situations. After you've published a few magazine articles, you'll have proven there's a market for your work and have established that you can have a platform.

Once you've got that, you can work on a book proposal and a few sample chapters. A book like Bestselling Book Proposals 101 will help with that.

Good luck!

Hi, I am new to the site and loving it already! I am in the middle (chapt 17) of writing my first novel set in 1950's London. My MC has spiritual leanings and secretly helps others in a time when it is dangerous to do so as she still could have been tried for witchcraft at the time. I'm really enjoying crafting each scene!

Greetings one and all,

I'm working on revising my first historical novel  which is chock-full of spiritual and paranormal elements. It is part of a trilogy that is set in northern Italy where my family (all four sets of grandparents) have lived since the 1600s. I'm gearing up for my second big writer's conference in a few weeks in Seattle and am nervous about pitching to agents. Nothing like pitching to get the ol' heart pumping :-)

I'm signing off now and will read through other comments to get to know you all a bit better.

Ciao, Tessa

Hello to all and I'm happy to be a part of this group. I just finished a novel about opening to spirituality while at a residence in India as a psychologist working with homeless and mentally impaired women brought in from the streets. One editor at Random House is interested and I will be sending my first fifty pages. I will also need to find an agent. Hi again, kindred souls.

I think along the way we've become victims of political correctness and currently, the word God isn't "in".  I sense the word is attached to a particular group and the various religions have different names or methods of addressing our Creator.  Simply put we're all addressing the same entity, we're all the children of the same God/Allah/or whatever name one chooses.  Rejoice, our Father loves you.
