Yes to both.

The ego is our "personality self" composed of our body and mind. Assuming there is a pure Divine message imprinted by the Soul onto the mind....The mind, emotions and the physical form are then involved in bringing that pure message to the written page. Thus the message is only able to be manifest at all because of the ego. The same identicle divine message brought through two different egos will be colored according to that personality. This is what makes two different books on the same subject interesting in different ways.

Accordingly....any time a pure soul message  is run through a mechanism such as the ego...there is a chance for the message to be misinterpreted, misconstrued,exagerated, minimized, coloured by personal experience, tainted with desire and ulterior motive...all kinds of "contamination".

Practices of clearing the mind and centering in the heart and examining our purpose for writing any particyular piece....will minimize contamination while macimizing the beauty of our individual perspective.

I agree Jill, yes to both.  I have been "conversing" with my inner guidance (angels, guides, higher power, or whatever your names may be) for many years and it is evolving into a book. I recently asked this question for myself because I felt that the messages I was being asked to share were not being received well by a few people I had been sharing it with.  I was upset and was asking for help to "promote" the message better.  How could I tweak the book so more people would like it etc.  Here is the response I received...it made me smile:

Do not attach your ego the results of the book.  If those whose opinions matter to you do not respond as you wish them to do not fret. This book then is not for them.  We have not asked you to write it so that you might receive praise or recognition, but so our voice would be heard by those who we know are receptive to hearing it.  It will strike a cord with those that we are reaching out to.  I am sorry dear one but this has nothing to do with you.  Remember it is us.  We wish for you to understand again that the voice is ours. We love your desire and openness to helping us but remember while we are doing it for you we are also doing this for all.  You are receiving the love and help and messages you need from writing are you not?  So any other accolades are not necessary.  We will continue to guide you dear one and you will continue to feel in the flow of your life so long as you remain in surrender.  Surrender to your fate, to our love, to your gifts.  Your gift will be hard to find if you attach mind/ego conditions on it.  Or when you see your gift do not decide how it will be used or how it will be received.  Simply allow it to flow.  If no one ever reads this book dear one we will be happy, for it has reached you.  We focus only on each of you individually.  All we say and do and show you is for you.  If another receives a glimpse of something or a message it was us, not you who showed it to them.  We opened the door for them to walk through.  Simply share your gifts with love and gratitude and we will take care of all the rest.

Fabulous advice!! When sitting in ego rather than soul we get so bound up in the effects of our work on the world and when and if we will ever be heard....what we forget is that our 80+year life span is a nano second in the timing of the Universe...those who will read and glean wisdom from our writings may not even be born yet.

Are you able to discern who the "us" is in your advice sessions? It's always good to clarify that.....Any adviser of the highest nature will never be put off by being asked to stand in the Light and reveal themselves.....only those that might be trying to use a willing soul unwittingly for dark or egotistical purposes fear standing in the Light of Truth.

Your guidance sounds very genuine...in that what they are saying matches Universal Law....I have just always been taught that the higher our communications the more responsibility we have to make sure who we are " talking" to.

Thanks Jill :)  I have my "thoughts" as to who the "us" is but at the end of the day it is only my interpretation, so limited in scope.  They do feel like more than one and while I have received names etc. I try not to focus on who they are as I find labels very limiting.  As for darkness and fear; I believe those come from within me and I must be careful to clean my own internal house.  Here is what they said to me.

         Yes we are a group of beings.  And yes we like that you do not try to define us with your limited embodied perception.  Know only that we are part of you all.  We have always been and will always continue to be with you all.  There are many of you that hear us and call us by all sorts of different names.  But we are none of them and we are all of them.  We are one of those things in your world that will never be understood by the mind and therefore creates the duality that is the bane of your mind/ego's existence.  You all wish to know; to have proof, to see tangibly but this is not possible with so many things in your world.  Acceptance, surrender to these unknowns will bring you immeasurable peace. Another of your lovely sayings is don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.  We are that gift horse.  Accept our gift wholly and without reservation. 

            We are here for each of you and we help each of you create the world you wish to have in this experience.  So do not fight over which of you hears us best or hears us the loudest.  Those things that we help you with are for you only.  Share the gift of our words and our availability to others but not what they hear or what they choose to take away from us.  That is between us and them.  So when you listen to the words from another who hears us in her own way do not judge her version as it is the one she has created with us.  We do not wish for you to interpret for others who we are and what message we are here to bring.  You are here in the service of others.  You have made your purpose to be a vessel for us to speak to others.  So be but a megaphone or a telescope so that others might see and hear what we wish to say to them.  Do not fret that you are not getting our message across the way you think we want it to come across.  We will decide that.  Be confident in your clarity of purpose and allow us to take care of the rest.
