Seems that most people see what's wrong. If we trained ourselves to only see what's good, what would happen?

I have noticed in much of the media that the focus is on what's wrong. To live a lifestyle where we think of what's right, we almost by necessity have to drop out of many social norms, such as watching the news, following politics, even paying attention to many churches that dwell on the negative. To a substantial degree I have been doing this, and I have found a happier state of being most of the time.
Looking for the good is especially valuable in relationships. By focusing on what I like about people instead of what I don't like, I create and co-create much happier relationships.
Permalink Reply by Sharon Lindenburger on July 27, 2012 at 4:41pm The law of attraction has a fatal flaw...it ignores polarity. It ignores the fact that there cannot be light without dark, truth without falsehood, peace without conflict, etc. I don't think that perfection is possible for that which is finite (our spirits may be infinite, but our bodies and the earth are not), but I do think that we can move in the direction of more integration. The relentless positivity of the law of attraction "movement" is actually creating more conflict, more darkness, because if you only focus on the light, by the law of polarity darkness will rise to bite you on the ass.
The road to integration is through embracing both light and dark. Viva Ecclesiastes...it got it right!

We're here on this planet to learn about love, and part of the learning process is dealing with negativity. There will always be a hefty supply of tests to help us hone our skills. I like the LOA material as general guidance but dislike how it has become a business that has led some to crashing and burning.
Permalink Reply by Robyn Opie Parnell on July 29, 2012 at 12:40am Yes, how do we recognize light if we don't know dark? How do we recognize good if we don't know bad? How do we recognize sweet if we don't know sour? One must know the negative to understand and appreciate the positive. I prefer to live in the positive as much as possible because I've experienced the negative.
Love and Light!

Permalink Reply by Sharon Lindenburger on July 27, 2012 at 4:37pm That would be a great idea. Canada is awesome. We have our issues, but in my opinion it's the best country in the world to live in right now. I am proud to be Canadian and would never live anywhere else.
Permalink Reply by Robyn Opie Parnell on July 28, 2012 at 12:24am I've created a world which is close to perfect. I don't watch, read or listen to world news. I do my best to keep out negativity. My perception is usually good and positive. I've trained myself and I live in bliss.
Permalink Reply by Jill Celeste on July 28, 2012 at 2:06pm The world is perfect...it is doing exactly what it is designed to do....Fool us into thinking there is a duality when there is only One. The manifest world is dual, the Infinite world of Spirit contains the manifest world and is One.
The trick of seeing only the positive or turning off the TV and radio is just that a trick for our own mental comfort.
The Real " trick"is to view what is happening and not label or react to it as "Good" or "Bad" but as part of the earth school curriculum to higher consciousness. Training yourself to sit in the center of your soul, knowing what action it is your dharma to take or not take, basing thought and actions in love and wisdom That is the Trick!
View the TV, have compassion for the criminal and the victims, know in your heart if you should take any action in the situation and stay centered.
FYI, please note I did not say this was easy!
Permalink Reply by Joshua Bagby on July 28, 2012 at 2:24pm Jill, I wonder if how we the people obtain our news is actually part of the earth school curriculum ... or could we change the paradigm of the news to be more harmonious with the spirit of your post? In other words, could there be such a thing as a spiritual news show that would describe such events as murders in a more thoughtful tone as you suggest that viewers should perform for themselves. Could we ever reach the point where we discuss having compassion for the criminal and the victim as a function of the broadcast itself? Do we accept the state of the news today or can we evolve it?
Permalink Reply by jeff herman on July 28, 2012 at 5:40pm The news is a commodity. It's designed to lure certain viewers that certain companies want to sell stuff to. It's also a place where those with a special interest will endeavor to control what gets said and shown relevant to their priorities. That's why a lot happens that few people know about, or why some situations are distorted to the point that they are fiction portrayed as reality. Books tend to be much less influenced by this kind of interference because they don't require ads, especially when published by independent presses that aren't owned by companies with an array of interests. A lot of alternative information can be found in books, and they are tolerated because most of the information rarely trickles down to the "masses". Sadly, a lot of real information gets bottle-necked in intellectual sub-divisions. For instance, how many American have any idea what the Patriot Act says? Apathy and ignorance obstructs evolution.
Permalink Reply by Joshua Bagby on July 29, 2012 at 12:31pm Yes, the news is a commodity and it feels as if it is losing ground in credibility, especially in light of social media. Much more than ever I hear people dialing out of the product. Facebook, Twitter, and the rest of the web are changing things. It's much more common to hear the viewpoint that the news is show business for profit and not the objective information provider it used to be regarded as being. Alternative information can be found in books and also on the web ... along with a glut of misinformation.
At this point it is my fantasy, but I do enjoy pondering what my idea of a "healthy" news show would look like. What kinds of stories would be relevant to a new paradigm? Clearly it would be way over the top of what we now endure because it would not be so fear-based.
Permalink Reply by Jill Celeste on July 29, 2012 at 2:35pm Josh - I believe we have the duty and the opportunity to shift the curriculum in favor of Divinity or Oneness whenever and wherever we can! A definite thumbs up to shifting the paradigm of newscasting! I'll co-anchor with you!!
In fact if we can catalogue the literature that proves how negative thinking affects human health, maybe we could get a grant from NIH to start the show......they are all ready to take candy and soda away from kids in the name of health....How about taking away negative, destructive thought forms......which appeal like candy to the baser instincts.
Not sure if the world is ready for us but don't know til we try. I think that this type of premise was part of Oprah starting the Oxygen channel...I don't watch much TV so I'm not sure how her venture is going.
She's fairly rich, maybe she would give us a slot on her channel until we go mainstresm?? Keep in Touch! I'm serious.
