Does this count as fantasy?

I'm working on a pet project that takes place in a fictional country in the 1600s.  For genre labeling purposes, since the setting is fictional, is that enough to classify it as a fantasy story?  I'm…Continue

It's call science fiction, not religion fiction, but I've seen divine references used to good effect if used as a possibility, not an edict. Continue

Hello, I'm new here.  I'm currently working on a fantasy novel that is appropriate for my highly gifted readers (I have 3) with a content that my 7 year old can handle while my 12 year old will still enjoy.  I do love a good challenge!

I keep being drawn back to my work in progress sci-fi thriller despite having no idea where the plot is heading. There is a strange fascination when writing in a world where the improbable may just be possible

I also signed up not long ago. I write paranormal mysteries for Chapter/YA's and adult fiction. One of my WIP is YA book with Gargoyles as protectors of my characters. My WIP for adult mysteries, my main character is empathic and clairvoyant. I have a WIP cozy involving a house with ghosts.

Hey there. I signed up a while back, but didn't introduce myself. I'm an urban and epic fantasy novelist looking for a good home for my first book, KNIGHT OF FLAME. My current WIP is the second book in the series, THE LAST CLAN, which I hope to finish by the end of the this month. I'm trying to build a web presence with a new website and blog and look forward to interacting with this group.

Hi, I'm also new to this group. I am a short story writer whose story ideas want to be novels. I am also currently enrolled with Full Sail University for a degree in Creative Writing. My current WIP is not an extension of a short story about vampires or murder between siblings, but involves time travel using an ancient artifact and spanning 3 generations and covers approximately 1000 years in time.

Hello all. I'm new to the group, and I love this genre particularly; superheroes, warriors, and monsters.

Mollyann, I have added a discussion titled "Multiversal Discussions" so that we can discuss it without clogging the comment wall. I think it is a great idea and I have a few question I posited in the discussion that struck me right way when I read the premise.

Robert--I look forward to your book.  I wrote a short story published in my ebook, The Way It Should Be, called "Another Time Traveler," with a nod to H.G. Wells.  In it, I posit a scientist who invents a time machine and travels back to "before the Big Bang" (which physicists tell us is impossible because time didn't exist before the Big Bang).  He encounters a being, a Super Scientist, who has set an infinite number of universes going in separate dimensions, each slightly different from the others, in order to see how they play out.  The Traveler decides to kill this being out of fear that it will decide to terminate the experiment.  Your opinion?

Hello, I have been a member for a short while but haven't introduced myself. I write fantasy/sci-fi. I have been working on a book that deals with the concept of a "multiverse" that incorporates modern magical theory fused with quantum physics. Nice to meet you all.

I got a message from the owner of http://www.magicappreciationtour.com/Default.aspx - and, yes, they are actively seeking fantasy authors for their March blog tour. Basically, you are signing up to do as many "post exchanges" with other fantasy writers as you would like. Very low pressure. You pick the number of exchanges you want to make.

On their site they have a Book Store that links your book with how to purchase it (the market is ebooks, btw, but if you have a print book on amazon, people will find it) and Info about all the authors.

Their job is to drive people to your site from their site and your job is to drive people to their site from yours. It's a fantasy writers and readers love-in.
