If a person doesn't enjoy writing, why would s/he be considered a writer in the first place?

I just finished reading an article that confirms, to a certain extent, the "it's not what you know, it's who you know" theory of the publishing world.  But I still assert that even with who you know, a person has to have some level of writing skill.  Making those connections will allow a person publish and sell the first round or two of books, but eventually readers will stray because in the end they want good stories that are told well.

I was going to say basically the same thing. :)
