Yes, but I was saved by the bell. I submitted the manuscript that eventually became my MFA thesis before it went thru a rigorous review process. Had it been accepted for publication in its earlier form (an unlikely possibility) it would have been a total embarrassment. I think the lesson I learned is that I'm a lousy reviewer/editor when it comes to my own stuff.
