After all, it's a tough job but someone has got to do it.

Permalink Reply by Patricia A.Shannon/yeager(Patty) on May 31, 2012 at 9:54pm I've worked on my novel "Before the Rooster Crows" for ten years and it's close to completion with editing. It's the hardest thing I think I've ever done, but to me, It's a DOOZY.

Thanks, Pat

Permalink Reply by Patricia Gligor on June 4, 2012 at 3:55pm Every writer I know would love to write the next Great American Novel and I'm no exception. :)
Permalink Reply by Roger Lawrence on June 8, 2012 at 8:12pm Although my writing will probably never be considered great, I would like to write a novel that people remember and say "hey that was pretty good." If that's the same thing, then yes, I would.

Permalink Reply by Roger Lawrence on June 9, 2012 at 9:08pm But well worth it all when you see your novel in print.
Permalink Reply by Patricia A.Shannon/yeager(Patty) on June 9, 2012 at 10:15pm Kelli, I sooooo agree with what you have to say. Your comment mirrors how I feel and what I've experienced as well. My novel has taken me ten years to write, and for a long time, I thought I was the only writer ever to take so long to write it. It's always good to know other "great writers" take a long time to complete a story. Let's continue to believe we've written the next greatest novel.
Permalink Reply by Sharon Lindenburger on June 10, 2012 at 8:26pm Actually, I would prefer the Canadian novel! <grin>
But having said that, I've recently edited a novel by a new writer whose book could definitely be classified as a great American novel, but as yet she has not found a publisher.
