DO YOU SHOW YOUR WORK TO KIDS BEFORE PITCHING IT?
Obviously these kids need to be willing and able to be objective, which might be tougher to arrange than writing the book.

Yes! Teachers and parents too, and reading specialists. Particularly my poetry MSS -- every poem gets parsed by professionals and most of them by kids.
