Comment by Peyton Price on April 27, 2012 at 2:56pm: A great way for authors to use Pinterest is to create boards of books that have inspired you, or authors that you admire. Amazon has added a "Pin it" button to book listings, so it's very easy to do.

Comment by Jan Lazo-Davis on April 20, 2012 at 2:03pm: I think Pinterest is a good place to become known and to become REAL to others. But not for a hard sell. I think people want to know their authors today.

Pinterest allows for that if it does not overwhelm. I hate getting spammed by people who love cute furry animals.

But any try at a hard sell will turn people off. The medium is for eye candy!!!

Since my book isn't going to come out until this fall, I'm using it at the moment to convey my the side of personality that I think is reflected in my writing voice. Eventually I will add my book on there, but for now, I want to genuinely interact with people before I'm selling something.
