A great way for authors to use Pinterest is to create boards of books that have inspired you, or authors that you admire. Amazon has added a "Pin it" button to book listings, so it's very easy to do.

I think Pinterest is a good place to become known and to become REAL to others. But not for a hard sell. I think people want to know their authors today.

Pinterest allows for that if it does not overwhelm. I hate getting spammed by people who love cute furry animals.

But any try at a hard sell will turn people off. The medium is for eye candy!!!

Re: Jeff's Pinterest message - I did create Pinterest board. Since my book isn't going to come out until this fall, I'm using it at the moment to convey my the side of personality that I think is reflected in my writing voice. Eventually I will add my book on there, but for now, I want to genuinely interact with people before I'm selling something.

Was there something specific you were wondering about?

Add me, ummm us,  as well...I am half of the writing team Crystal Sharpe. The other half is Linda Lombri. We...sorry...Crystal has authored Book One of the Sandra Troux Mystery series. Sandy and her pals, Bobbi and Lizbet were Nancy Drew fans as girls. Now they are baby boomers and are launched on a new life of sleuthing in Mystery of the Ming Connection. Take a look www.sandratrouxmysteries.com.

Gael, I'd be happy to participate as well, if you think your readers would be interested in literary fiction with a Japan connection.
