Permalink Reply by Janet Starr Hull on August 8, 2012 at 12:14pm I'll second that - I did two last week. One thing I'll mention, though, the requests come to me - I do not go out and solicit them.
Permalink Reply by Rico Marciano on August 8, 2012 at 12:54pm Hey, Jeff. I love radio phone interviews. I can be interviewed on my balcony, watch the yachts go by my condo in the bay, enjoy a frosty Brooklyn Lager . . . and never leave my home. BlogTalk Radio is great for practice, however, I just received a list of radio shows from a PR person, that have a minimum of 100,000 listeners per show . . . that's a different ballgame. I'd be happy to share the list with anyone who is pitching their book.
Permalink Reply by Janet Starr Hull on August 8, 2012 at 1:33pm I'd love to get into that radio genre as opposed to BlogTalk, Rico, and would appreciate your offer to share the list. I, like you, enjoy working from home, but the view outside my window is a bit different from yours. Outside my Texas ranch house, I watch armadillos root up fire ant mounds, roadrunners scoot across the pasture with a rat snake hanging from their beak, an occasional rattler or copperhead, and competition between the coyotes and golden eagles scanning to see if my dachshunds are outside. I do have incredible sunsets and starry skies, though. And, it's soooooo quiet.
Permalink Reply by Rico Marciano on August 8, 2012 at 3:31pm Janet, you're funny! Your Texas Ranch House sounds like a John Wayne western, I bet that you're a good writer. It's very tropical here in South Florida, but humid in the Summer. We have pink sunsets, that reflect off the water, as does the full moon. But the city lights hinder the the starry nights, and it's never totally quiet . . . as there are 200 restaurants and bars, traffic and boat sounds near me.
I'd be glad to give you the radio shows, just email me at ricoworldwide@aol.com, and I'll email you the link to the stations.
Permalink Reply by Janet Starr Hull on August 8, 2012 at 4:05pm You've got a point, Rico - true Texas, which is real country Texas, IS like a John Wayne movie. I've got my shotgun by the bed and pack a pistol behind the seat of my truck - LOL!! All the while, I'm a girly-girl, and keep my toe nails painted. That's Texas. I was born in Jacksonville and lived on the St Johns as a kid. My aunt has a condo in New Smyrna, so I get back to the sun and sand every now and again.
I converted my ranch into a 501c3 Wildlife Sanctuary for endangered tortoises and birds from around the world. Native Texans have horses and Longhorns - I've got 150 lb Sahara and Aldabra torts. Go figure.
Why do we wind up where we do? I'll shoot you an email. Thank you.

I'm in the midst of the "soft" launch of my book to create advance buzz. I'd love that list - may I email you?
Permalink Reply by Sarah Fredricks on August 13, 2012 at 8:40am Hi, are these radio interviews just for US folk? Could UK authors apply to be interviewed too? I don't know if we have the same opportunities you seem to have in the States. If we do, how do you find them?
On the theme of views, I look out onto Scottish countryside with a river meandering along the roadside and cows in the field beyond. I love the water so if I had your view Rico I don't think I'd ever get another word written!
Permalink Reply by jeff herman on August 15, 2012 at 11:24am Rico, Probably a great list, but I don't believe they each have 100000 listeners. Perhaps the potential for that many and more.
Permalink Reply by Rico Marciano on August 15, 2012 at 3:31pm The free top 20 show list has some big names which I'm sure have lot's of listeners, I'm just quoting Alex, the source of the list regarding the number of listeners. He's very reliable and his niche is teaching experts and authors how to pitch radio producers. He also has a 1,300 radio show list you can buy.
