Your interpretation of the following recurrent dream about having a swollen twisting, painfull stomach abscess and always feeling as if it will burst anytime. Then after more than two years of having this dream, the swollen stomach abscess ripens and does finally burst open releasing a lot of pus from within.
You thought you’d die, but then you are shocked at the realisation that you are still alive and those around you seem not to take it serious no matter how much you plead to them to take you to the hospital. They seem to take what you think is serious very lightly. Life you are making a fuss about nothing.
Despite the pain you felt from the burst, there’s a sense of relief that finally it’s over, even if you’re not even sure whether you’II live or die.

Margaret, Jane, Jan, Jeff, Sondra and Sharon, thankyou so much for your insights into this dream. It’s interesting how all of your interpretations are related and all make so much sense to me and what am going through. Whether this dream is in referrence to that am stilll not sure yet. I had fun reading each and every one of them and learning a lot.
Margret and Sharon, thanks for the detailed information on how to interpret dreams. I’ve kept a dream journal for 3yrs now and did the regular writings of whatever I could remember. I have since recorded a number of dreams including this one. You are right that overtime you start learning what certain symbols represent. And hearing other people's perspectives is also very helpful, like what's happening here. I love this forum!
I’d also like to share with you that just the night before this dream, I had another very similar dream in which a deceased aunt whom I was very close to came and started removing what seemed like unwanted stuff from inside my body. She was going deep within my body and retrieving the ‘waste’. She had what looked like a sword of Michael, the Angel.
Then later, she went on to break the shocking news to me that, “ I have informed 30,000 people about the thing you’ve been holding back”, while assuring me that this was best for me and everybody involved.
In shock I protested and asked why she hadn’t consulted me before letting out this awful secret to the world. I panicked as I did not know how to react to this news or what the consequences would be.
Obviously, you can also probably see how this is very closely related to the twisting stomach dream. My other question is, at which point should the dreamer be having this dream? After the secret is out in actual waking life or before the incident actually happens in waking life? Or is it just telling of a possible outcome if the secret was let out?

It is interesting that you don't have a handle on a repeating dream yet somehow you are supposed to be good at interpreting them on your own, as Sharon states.  There are many people who have studied dream symbology for so long (Jung, Freud, on and on) who would argue that if you were really able to interpret your own dream, on your own, then why would the subconscious need to communicate to you in symbols at all?  I believe God sends people to us from our own court of souls to give us clues as to how our soul wishes to know what it needs know to progress more fully and rapidly on the plane of evolving spiritual levity.

With that said, I'd like to tell you what God is telling me regarding this dream, okay?

This is the most important point to make about the gut and what it means in this context.  The gut uses the time it is in the body to moisturize and dissolve the ways of waste.  This is then supposed to go to the intestines and nutrients are given to the body.  Notice how this congealing mess never makes it that far.  Notice how it cannot serve any purpose to your body.  It is therefore removed by your higher force as is noticed by the role played by your aunt.  Your aunt is not dead, she is in spirit form and only looks as if she has passed because her body no longer exists, but she has visited you to help you remove this mass of inside force that has played havoc with your mind.  You are no longer allowed to let the notice of other people penetrate your being and no longer allowed to let them get to you the way you have in the past.

Here is an important point we need you to understand.  If your only way is to listen to the soul's need, then you will more unconsciously follow what your soul asks of you.  If you listen to what others tell you that you need, you will less likely follow your worldly concerns and become the pussy mess your dreams warn you about.  If you think you can do this on your own you are leaving out all of the people who came to earth with you.  You were designed to make this a group effort.  You will now find the people who you are meant to find and give them the understanding that you can hear their guides.  The more you learn to listen the more you'll learn from them.  As you learn from them, you will master the guide format.  As you master that guide format, you will uncover why you were born and start living with purpose.

God.

Sondra here...Hi Readith, I know this is difficult for you because you are being bruised by all of the people around you who think you are nuts for what you experience....I know exactly what that's like.

Sondra thnx for that message

Hi Redith, here is how I would write the meanings page for this dream if it were mine, and a question or two to help you find the meaning:

Aunt; [In a word or two, what was the first thing or most obvious thing about your aunt when she was alive that comes to mind? /Write this as an adjective or two or short phrase for your aunt meaning in this space]

The aunt plays a significant role in this dream, so it is important to relate what it was about her that stood out to you, as she represents an aspect of you, that you were close to –something within you that is no longer alive for you….

Deceased Aunt: =An aspect of me; ___________________________________ that is Not alive…

                                                                    Aunt meaning

‘I’ allowed this aspect of me; ____________________________________, which is really not alive

                                                                   Aunt meaning

anymore to take away what I do not want alive deep within me as this is,

Waste= not needed, =is no longer needed for me.

This aspect of me as ______________________________________, that is no longer alive for me

                                                       Aunt meaning

 used,

Angel Michael= _____________________________________________________,

                                               Angel Michael meaning

Sword= to Cut away ,

Waste= that which is no longer needed in me.

This aspect of me; _______________________________, which is really not alive anymore for me,

                                                               Aunt meaning

News Shocks me=gives me information that is unknown to me and hurtful,

                                                        Meaning

And told,

30,000 others=multitudes of those I do not know /and are not related to me

                                                30,000 others meaning

That which I did not yet want to tell.

              Holding back

This aspect of me as ____________________________________, that is no longer alive for me,

                                                          Aunt meaning

made the decision for me-that it was best for me and all others concerned.

I= the rightful owner aspect and appropriate aspect of me to make decisions for this body, and

                                             I meaning

 Protested, and asked why...

the appropriate aspect of me

       I meaning

was not asked, before telling that which,

the rightful and appropriate aspect of me to make decisions for this body,

                                         I meaning

did not want told.

I = the rightful owner and appropriate aspect of me to make decisions for this body,

                                                                I meaning

Panicked=Did not know what to do and became fearful as to the effects of all this.

As to your question about the timing of this dream, whether it would come before or after the major event, dreams use ‘fresh fruit’ about what is happening now in your life. They can also be prophetic, but there is usually a different feeling associated with those dreams that one becomes familiar with thru time.

Sometimes we have fear dreams that just represent a fearful struggle just working out of us, even though we know we are not that afraid in the waking world with some situation. If is is a prophetic warning, then you would have to sense your 'feeling' nature  within on that to know the difference. It does feel different.

It is apparent to me- that there is a present struggle within you about something very personal to you that is about to be made public against your authentic will. Yet this someone or this aspect that was once close to you has infringed upon you with their own unauthentic authority, and yet this once close aspect to you no longer exists for you-has already died for you=[unauthentic]. Yet its essence no longer exists, it persists in acting in you in an unauthentic way. You do not fear this unauthentic aspect-but you do fear what it can do, or rather has done.

My question to you is; are you making a decision about something personal-based on what you think you ‘ought’ to do-i.e.- what others would expect you to do, or from an inner inspiration?  If there was a decision to do something from an inner inspiration, there would be little to no struggle. Anyone having a problem with it-you would know-it would just be their problem to grow from. Inspiration gives us strength not struggle.

This dream speaks about a fear, of something happening now or a fear of it happening tomorrow etc, that would appear to you to be out of your authentic control. My question to you is; is this just a fear working out of you about a decision you have made or are afraid of making? Sometimes we are unsure of our actions, even though in our waking life we are sure, so the subconscious nature within us just has to get the pressure off. Yet because of the reoccurring nature of these dreams, I would say you are not ready for a decision you feel has been forced upon you in a time you are not ready for. I would suggest that you sit with yourself at peace and go within to your own authentic voice within, and once you feel that peace-ask the question about this-is it right to do…this... now…or ever…and  see how you feel with that thought and after that quest…Within.

Margret wow, this is an amazing technique. thanku so much.

One last thing as to why we are given friends in the spirit at the time we come to earth. Einstein said, "You cannot solve a problem in the same consciousness that created it," this is why people are there to remind us.

The method of using self-interpretation dream techniques works on repeated dreams as well as on singular dreams. Whether you have the dream 100 times or only once, it is still only you that can interpret it. The very best modern dream therapists in the world teach their clients self-interpretation of dreams. Indigenous peoples teach this as well.

Both Freud and Jung used techniques to lead their patients to interpret their own dreams. The only problem with F and J is that they sometimes decided that a certain dream image meant one thing, so in teaching the symbology to patients, the patients would use that meaning, which often led to mistakes. For example, Freud thought that a snake was always sexual. However, a snake can mean many things, and the most important thing is what the snake means to you. I had a dream not long ago of a snake slithering across the grass. When I awoke the phrase "snake in the grass" came to mind, and I realized the dream was saying that a certain colleague of mine was a snake in the grass, i.e., not a trustworthy person.

Can other people's reflections on the dream shed any light? Sometimes...but the potential for projection is huge. It's better, in my opinion, to learn solid techniques of dream self-interpretation.

Sometimes people meet together in a dream group (I am part of a dream group) in which we share dreams we've had and the interpretations we each have come up with regarding our own dreams. Each person in the group has been trained in self-interpretation of dreams, and thus we can guide each other through the process. The results are amazing. This process takes dream interpretation to a much different level. Most importantly, it works.

Margaret, I like the self-intepretive process you offered. That's the kind of tool that can help a person make sense of his/her dream.

I asked permission from the leader of the dream group I attend (the leader is an A++ dream facilitator/guide--very well known in his field) whether I could share some of the self-interpretive techniques he has taught to people over many years of working with thousands of dreamers. He said yes. So here are a few. Some of them can be found in other contexts, for example, in Gestalt therapy, but applied to dreams they reveal amazing things. If any of you can use these and find them useful, that's great. If you don't find them useful, then read on by.

1) The technique I mentioned earlier: Become each and every aspect of your dream, piece by piece, including the inanimate parts, and as that person, other sentient being, or thing, state what your purpose is in the dream.

2) The Gestalt chair technique: Place two chairs facing each other. You sit on one chair and imagine that each part of your dream (one by one) comes to sit opposite you. Ask each part what its message is. Then move to the chair where your dream part is, and give the answer to the other chair which represents you. Keep up the questioning, changing chairs, until you see a pattern emerge (and one will certainly emerge).

3) Dream the dream forward: Go into a meditative state, using calming breathing to take you to alpha waves, or even better, to theta, and imagine you are still in the dream and it is continuing. Where does it take you? What happens next?

4) Write the dream as a fable: Write down the dream as if you are telling a fable; Start with "Once upon a time" or "Once there was...." and recount the dream to yourself as a fable teller. When you get to the end, say or write: "And the moral of the story is....." and then write or say the first thing that comes into your head after that phrase.

5) Make the dream into an artistic creation: Write a poem containing your dream elements, or a short story, or if you're into visual media, do a drawing or painting that uses elements of your dream. Read over what you wrote, or painted. What do you see there?

6) Name the qualities: Identify what you feel are the most important aspects of your dream. Pick an aspect and describe what qualities it embodies. For example, I once had a dream about a lion sitting on my lawn...I listed the qualities I associate with "lion" and also with "lawn." Some interesting juxtapositions occurred, and the dream became clear.

These are just a few self-interpretation techniques that work really well, and are a heck of a lot more reliable than having someone else tell you what your dream means. The dreamer always knows what the dream means...you just have to dig a bit. What you find for yourself will be so much more edifying, and so much wiser, than anything anyone else could tell you about your dream.

Great ideas Sharon! Thanks for sharing these!

I raised my 5 children on dream interpretation and learning self interpretation techniques, so our morning breakfasts were often filled with fascinating conversations! And you are so right-when once you find the techniques that work for you; an inner wisdom begins to unfold from this interior journey that no one can take away from you. I have always felt it accompanies the thought, ‘Know Thyself and Thou shalt know All’. Another person’s wisdom regardless of how respected, will eventually fade away for us if it did not ring true within our own being-our own wisdom.

Sharon, great method. thankyou very much
